BookReview ~ Operation Home by M.L. Rosado #Romance

Operation Home
 (Operation series Book #3)
By M.L.Rodado

For the Gessati brothers, there’s never a boring moment.

When Vinny Gessati, a hot restaurateur with an even hotter temper, falls in love with his brother’s soon-to-be sister-in-law, he believes he’s found the one. But Cristina just isn’t ready—not after a rough breakup with a cheating ex-boyfriend. She finds every excuse to avoid Vin’s enchanting green eyes and ripped body, but she soon realizes her heart is already lost to the Gessati family’s “little brother,” a man who’s anything but. Could love really be that simple, she wonders, or are the two of them a recipe for disaster?

Both Cristina and Vinny soon must put their feelings aside as the entire Gessati family is rocked by a threatening note sent by a psychotic stalker from the past. With the entire family on alert, Cristina thinks she’ll never find the right moment to make Vinny her own. And her hot Italian lover must fight his own demons to feel worthy of the woman that he craves.

Their family will be threatened more than ever and the only way to survive is to fight together. In this last book in the Operation Series, Tati and Donato, Cristina and Vinny, and Luisa and Gio all come together to head out on the most exciting adventure yet. Home, Gessati family will discover, is the best destination, and the best reason for living.

The Coffee Pot Book Club Review

It takes a lot to get over a breakup. Especially when you walk in on your boyfriend making love to another woman.  Christina fears she may never trust another man again. It was just a shame that her sister was marrying into the Gessati family, because the way Donato’s youngest brother looks at her makes her rethink that maybe she should not give up on the whole love thing, just yet.

Vinny fell in love with Christina the moment he cast his eyes upon her. It is just a shame that the timing is wrong. How long does it take for someone to get over a broken heart, anyway?

I so love this series, and book #3 did not disappoint. Operation Home by M.L.Rodado
picks up where the story left off in book #2. I was really excited to dive between the covers of Operation Home and I could not wait to read about the budding romance between Vinny and Christina, which had been alluded to in the last book. As I have come to expect from M.L.Rodado, Vinny and Christina’s relationship was beautifully portrayed, and the characters were authentic in the telling.

What makes this series different from many romance series is that the story continues for all the characters. You are really getting three romances in one, with a fabulous story that involves them all. The Italian Mafia plays a part in this series, and there is one detestable character in particular that threatens to destroy the Gessati family. This helped to drive the story forward.

I grew to love all the characters, and I find myself in this usual situation where I can’t decide which book I enjoyed the most. I think it is fair to say that I enjoyed them all.

I will certainly be looking out for more books by M.L.Rodado.

I Highly Recommend.

#Bookreview ~ Black Soul (SoulEaters #1) by Odessa Gillespie Black #Paranormal #Romance @OdessaGBlack

Black Soul (SoulEaters #1)
by Odessa Gillespie Black

Half man, half angel, all soldier.

The souleaters will stop at nothing, even death, to uphold divine law. When duty brings Noah Kavanaugh into Nurse Caroline’s path, he is unprepared for the intense desire igniting between them. Rejecting the impulse to take Caroline as his mate becomes unbearable. The limits of his own self-control are tested. So is his loyalty to the law he upholds.

A forbidden human Caroline is determined to find a cure for the mysterious Noah’s illness. With her blazing attraction to him, she’d willingly sacrifice her heart, body, even her life to end his suffering. However, can she bring herself to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save them both?

The Coffee Pot Book Club Review

Noah wanted to die. He deserved to die. He had even tried to take his own life. But, when you are a souleater, death is annoyingly hard to achieve. The only way he can die is to starve himself of souls. It is a long and agonising process. Then one day, when he is at his weakest, Caroline walks into his life. The last thing he needs is a carer who will make him revaluate his choice and make him want to live again.

He can yell at her, hurl abuse at her, but the one thing he can't do is send her away. Despite Noah's less than warm welcome, Caroline cannot help but be drawn towards him. There is something about Noah that tugs her heartstrings and makes her yearn for his love.

Noah will not let the most beautiful human he has ever met get under his skin. If she ever found out about the truth, well... He would never see her again, and then he might as well be dead.

WOW! I was totally blown away by this book. Black Soul (SoulEaters #1) by Odessa Gillespie Black is one of those books that grabs you from the first page and does not let you go until the last. It is an action-packed adventure, which has a little bit of everything. I loved it.

I adored the characterisation of both Caroline and Noah. They were wonderfully portrayed and more importantly, believable.

The forbidden romance between Caroline and Noah was breathtakingly beautiful and yet terribly tragic. The story left me in tears more than once. But it also left me hopeful. I shall certainly be picking up the other books in this series.

A truly outstanding read.

I Highly Recommend.

I’m a married mother of four kids and seven pet rescues. I live in the foothills of North Carolina where if you don't like the weather, all you have to do is...wait. It's ever changing. The only thing we're known for "in these parts" is Knobby, Casar's own version of bigfoot. (Watch the youtube videos to see what we have to put up with. And yes, local stores sell t-shirts. And no, I don't have one.)

Writing has been a love of mine since I read my first paranormal novel, Pet Semetery by Stephen King. Other authors such as Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, and V.C. Andrews have also inspired me. So, if all their novels had a baby, mine would be the byproduct! Hope you enjoy my works.

#BookReview : Mary - A Tudor Princess by Tony Riches #HistoricalFiction #Tudor #mustread @tonyriches

Mary – Tudor Princess
by Tony Riches

From the author of the international best-selling Tudor Trilogy, the true story of the Tudor dynasty continues with the daughter of King Henry VII, sister to King Henry VIII. Mary Tudor watches her elder brother become King of England and wonders what the future holds for her.

Born into great privilege, Mary has beauty and intelligence beyond her years and is the most marriageable princess in Europe. Henry plans to use her marriage to build a powerful alliance against his enemies. Will she dare risk his anger by marrying for love?

Meticulously researched and based on actual events, this 'sequel' follows Mary's story from book three of the Tudor Trilogy and is set during the reign of King Henry VIII.

The Coffee Pot Book Club Review

"I ask you to consent to my choice of husband, if it is God's wish that I outlive King Louis..."

Sister to the newly crowned King Henry VIII, Mary's future is assured. She is destined to marry Prince Charles of Ghent, grandson of Ferdinand II of Aragon. But unbeknown to Henry, Mary harbours a deep longing for Charles Brandon, a young knight of Henry's court. Mary understands her duty and she will marry Prince Charles. But if wishes were horses...

Being a huge fan of Tony Riches' work, I could not wait to get my hands on his latest offering. Mary - Tudor Princess, was everything I expected from Mr Riches and then some.

I was swept away by the grandeur of the English and French courts. And the scheming, manipulation, and the endless currying of favour was forever present.

Mary was a woman in a man's world, but she knew her mind, and she cleverly weaved a promise from her brother that if the worst were to happened she could choose her own husband.  And choose him she did. It was a dangerous game Mary and Charles Brandon played. To go against Henry’s orders could have meant certain death. But to deny their love would have been an even great crime.

This book was certainly a compelling read with a host of historical characters that, if you are a fan of the Tudor era, you will already know much about. Seeing the Tudor court through Mary's eyes gave a unique perspective.

A beautiful tale of a princess who knew her own heart and was courageous enough to stand up to a king.

I Highly Recommend.
