Demon’s Touch

(McLean Twins #2)

By

Jennifer Loiske

Shannon McLean had come a long way since she lost her mother. A while ago she'd thought she was alone in the world, a plain Jane with no place to go. Now she knew better. Suddenly she was surrounded by relatives: a crazy talented twin brother, Ian, who literally held the keys to magic in his hands; a demonic father, Connor, who had paid a high price for a one-way ticket to hell; and a wannabe big brother, Simon, who was not only half demon but also a hit man of some sort; and herself ... so not a plain Jane but a witch with ancient spells tingling on her fingertips. Oh, and if that were not enough of a burden for a thirteen-year-old girl, her father had sent her to London on an impossible quest. No matter what she did, or who tried to help her, she kept failing time and time again, and time was not something she had. If she ever intended to save her father from becoming the next king of hell, she had to act fast and do the impossible. After all, every witch knows the hard truth: demons cannot be saved.

What did I think of the Book?

“I think it’s time for me to admit defeat and call for help...”

Shannon Mclean’s life is far from simple. What with all the usual angst of a thirteen-year-old girl, she also has the added burden of possessing magical powers.

Shannon also has a connected with her twin brother that goes way beyond the natural bond of siblings. Ian has magic too, but when he and Shannon create magic together, then it is something to behold. However, controlling the said magic is not easy and often leads to disastrous consequences.

Demon’s Touch (McLean Twins #2) is a fast-paced tale, which follows the journey of Shannon as she tries to understand the power that she and her brother possess. Shannon wants to use her powers for good, but she is impatient and sometimes overconfident. As she soon discovers there is still an awful lot to learn about magic and, more importantly, how to control it.

Shannon is a very believable character and also a very likable one. I thought Jennifer Loiske has created a wonderfully well-rounded character in Shannon. She acts like a thirteen-year-old with a few added issues. I enjoyed reading about her.

The story is gripping and I look forward to coming back to the book each day.

I haven’t read book #1 in the series, but that didn’t matter for I soon picked up the story. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of
Demon’s Touch (McLean Twins #2) and I will certainly be looking out for more books in this series.

I Highly Recommend.
