Named after the Norse God of the Sea, Njörd grew up sailing, swimming, and fishing the fjords of Norway. Endowed with extraordinary senses, speed, and strength, he became known as Wolf of the Nordic Seas, leading lucrative Viking raids from the Baltic shores to the Black and Caspian Seas. When a Viking völva foretells his future through a seidr vision, Njörd learns that his fate and his mate—the siren with the sea goddess eyes—lie on the alabaster coast of Normandy in the distant Land of the White Chalk Cliffs.

Elfi Thorfinnsdóttir is a skilled shieldmaiden who seeks vengeance against the ruthless Frankish count who killed her brother and abducted her father in an attempt to seize her clifftop castle. But rather that submit to the count’s relentless demand for her hand in marriage, Elfi allies with Richard the Fearless—the Viking Duke of Normandy— and the Danish Jarl of Ribe known as the Wolf of the Nordic Seas.

As Elfi and Njörd discover startling secrets about their respective pasts, they find that the three Norns have entwined the threads of their fates not just as political allies, but as mates destined to fulfill a divine prophecy.

Wolf of the Nordic Seas— book 2 of the Valiant Vikings series set in tenth century Normandy— is a sizzling, scintillating blend of historical fiction, Norse mythology, paranormal fantasy, and steamy Viking romance!

Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars — a beautiful, engaging story that stayed with me long after I finished reading.

Every once in a while I finish a book and just sit there for a moment, not quite ready to leave the world I’ve been in. Wolf of the Nordic Seas did exactly that to me.

From the very beginning, this story pulled me straight into the Viking world. The ships, the sea, the constant sense of danger — it all feels vivid and real without being heavy. I never felt as though I was reading a history lesson. Instead, I felt like I was right there with the characters, wondering what would happen next.

The hero is exactly the kind of Viking you hope for — strong, capable, and intimidating when he needs to be — but he’s also deeply human. He carries guilt, loyalty, fear and longing in equal measure. You can feel the weight of every choice he makes, and that made me care about him almost immediately.

The heroine completely won me over. She’s not reckless or unrealistically fearless, but brave in a steady, believable way. She thinks before she acts, stands up for herself, and grows throughout the story. I loved watching her find her place in such a harsh world without losing her kindness or her sense of self.

What adds an unexpected and fascinating layer to this book is the way myth and magic are woven into the story. Alongside the very human conflicts between Vikings and their enemies, there’s a larger, unseen struggle playing out — a quiet war between forces of light and shadow that subtly shapes events. The presence of otherworldly beings, aligned with either hope or corruption, gives the story an epic feel without overwhelming the historical elements. It feels as though the characters are part of something much older and much larger than they realise.

There’s plenty of action and danger to keep things exciting, but the story always makes room for reflection and emotion. I especially appreciated the small scenes — conversations by firelight, moments of doubt, simple acts of loyalty — because those are what made the characters feel real to me.

By the end, I wasn’t just happy with how the story turned out — I was emotionally invested. I genuinely cared about these people and their future, which is the best compliment I can give any book.

If you enjoy historical romance with touches of myth, strong characters, heartfelt emotion and adventure on the high seas, I highly recommend Wolf of the Nordic Seas.
